Spotify streamt auf alle WLAN-Geräte im Haus

Die neue Funktion des Musikstreamingdienstes soll vor allem in Haushalten zur Entfaltung kommen. Wie The Verge beschreibt, kommt man etwa nach Hause, ruft auf seinem Smartphone alle WLAN-Geräte im Haushalt per Fingertipp auf und streamt den Song, den man gerade hört auf seine Drahtlos-Lautsprecher. Voraussetzung ist, dass man bei allen Geräten auf Spotify eingeloggt ist und alle Geräte sich im selben Netzwerk befinden.

Spotify Connect steht allen Premium-Kunden von Spotify zur Verfügung. Damit bietet das Unternehmen seiner zahlenden Kundschaft einen weiteren Bonus. Gratis-Kunden soll damit ein weiterer Anreiz geboten werden, auf die Bezahl-Version des Musikstreamingdienstes zu wechseln.

Connect wird zunächst für iOS-Geräte angeboten. Auf dem Apple-Betriebssystem steht mit AirPlay eine Gratis-Option zum Streaming auf andere Geräte zur Verfügung, wie The Verge anmerkt. An der Android- und Desktop-Version von Spotify Connect wird gearbeitet. Updates für Drahtlos-Lautsprecher werden "in den kommenden Monaten" verbreitet. Marken, die dabei unterstützt werden, sind unter anderem Argon, Bang & Olufsen, Denon, Hama, Marantz, Philips, Pioneer, Revo, Teufel und Yamaha.
