Samsung erzielt Gewinne auf Rekord-Niveau

Er stieg im Jahresvergleich um 72,7 Prozent auf etwa 14,1 Billionen Won (11,1 Milliarden Euro), wie der südkoreanische Marktführer bei Smartphones, Speicherchips und Fernsehern am Donnerstag mitteilte.
Der Umsatz liege im selben Zeitraum bei voraussichtlich 61 Billionen Won. Auch das zweite Halbjahr werde stark werden, prognostizierte das Unternehmen. Zuletzt hatte Samsung einige Herausforderungen wie das Debakel mit brennenden Akkus bei dem Vorzeige-Smartphone Galaxy Note 7 im Herbst zu überstehen.
